We have setup this fund to help protect our water source and preserve Lake Allatoona for future generations. All donations are used for legal fees and expenses related to the lawsuit filed August 16, 2007 in Cobb County Superior Court in response to the Cobb County Commissioners' approval of Z-164, a rezoning that will have detrimental affects on Lake Allatoona.
This approved development would put almost 1,000,000 square feet of development within 1800ft of the lake. The environmental impact of this will undoubtly lead to massive contamination from runoff and pollutants. All proposed environmental protections were dismissed as being too expensive for the applicant. This left us with no other option, but to file suit and protect our only water source, Lake Allatoona.
